Art from the studio of Kenny Henson, an Oregon artist that loves to paint Oregon landscape, modern abstract, contemporary impressionist landscape, contemporary folk art paintings in Acrylic and other mediums. Lively colors, emotional, wonderful local and abstract subjects. Locally shown and awarded artist. |

I enjoy working with oils and acrylics painting landscapes of many subjects. Also, I like using a digital camera to photograph potential subjects that are of interest to me, visiting many areas close to Florence and around Oregon. They could be anything from a local waterfall, beach, flower or forest to special events that happened in various towns. From these pictures and from inner feelings and thoughts, I will put to canvas my view of the world around me. This is Kenny's world.
Each painting is the result of something that I witnessed or imagined. Some are based on things in the real world, some just made up as I painted. Paintings could include a wide panoramic view point or something focused on a small spot in the countryside. There could be unusual viewpoints of common objects, calm summer sunsets at the beach, forest meadows and meandering creeks, or fanciful imaginary places and imaginary things comprised of things that just happened on the canvas as I painted!
Some of my work was displayed at the Rage Gallery in Florence, the Broadway Gallery in Venetta, the River View Gallery in Florence, the gallery at Florence Events Center and Gallery above the Silver Lining in Florence. But it is more fun to just list items on Ebay and see what happens!
If you like my painting style but do not see any paintings that suit you, ask me to paint something just for you! I will do commissioned art work! More than 600 art lovers view annual juried show at FEC "Celebrate Arts 2004", the Friends of the Florence Events Center's annual juried art show, opened this past weekend and was viewed by more than 600 people. This was the complete show of 167 pieces selected by juror Ellen Tykeson from more than 250 entries. "We got off to a wonderful start on Thursday evening with a private reception for all the artists that had submitted work," according to Lucille Herr, chair of the FEC gallery. "Over 200 people attended. We were entertained with harp music by Jeanne Olwen and recorded piano music by Keith Russer, one of our graphic artists." Also in attendance were Terry and Beth Newell of The Margaret Studley Foundation that supported this show with a generous grant, Herr said. The artists who were awarded Best of Show received their cash prizes at the reception. Winners are Kenny Henson for two-dimensional art, Leo Ellingson for three-dimensional art, and Adam Kotaich for photography. The show opened to the public on Friday, and the public was invited to select the "People's Choice" award. On Sunday the votes were counted, and "Beach Baby" by Joy Descoteaux was the winner."... |
